Here we feature tons of classic sci-fi, including masters like H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, and Edgar Rice Burroughs. War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, and the Island of Dr. Moreau by Wells essentially kicked off every sub-genre in sci-fi. Jules Verne is known for foreshadowing future technologies, and his 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, From the Earth to the Moon, and Journey to the Center of the Earth are masterpieces.

Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Land That Time Forgot is unforgettable, as are Pellucidar and the Princess of Mars. There’s Stanley Weinbaum’s groundbreaking A Martian Odyssey, and The Last Man by Mary Shelley, which is a classic. E.E. “Doc” Smith is a favorite, with The Skylark of Space and Triplanetary, the first books of two different series. A few more modern authors include Philip K. Dick, with Beyond Lies the Wub, and Kurt Vonnegut, with 2 B R 0 2 B.
