In your quest for enlightenment, it’s best to start with the philosophy of the ancient Greeks, who essentially invented the stuff. Our philosophy section has everything from Plato, who is deemed the “Father of Philosophy.” His Republic is the wellspring from which so much of today’s thought flows. We also feature the groundbreaking “I think therefor I am” from Descartes’ Discourse on the Method. And there then there are Hume’s Enquiries, and Locke’s Essays on human understanding, which are benchmarks of philosophical writing.

We have The Analects of Confucius and the Tao Te King for some Eastern thought. We have many of Nietzsche’s controversial tracts, along with Annie Besant’s occult philosophy. There’s Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s Discourse on Inequality, which is always a brilliant read, and the The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine, which is considered to be a masterpiece of philosophical writing. From wherever you begin, the works in this collection are sure to get you thinking.
